Chocolate pasta on the menu for Leeds lovers

Leeds-based Italian restaurant Casa Mia Grande is giving diners the perfect way to get in the mood this  Valentine’s Day by creating two unique chocolate-inspired pasta dishes for amorous couples to tuck into.

Chocolate Fetuccini with Scampi

Having long been known for its aphrodisiac qualities, chocolate will be the main ingredient of a selection of homemade menu choices available on this year’s Casa Mia Valentine’s Menu, including a chocolate fettucine with white wine and scampi sauce and chocolate tortelloni filled with ricotta sauce.

With the ancient Aztecs and legendary womaniser Casanova being keen ambassadors of chocolate’s love inducing properties, it is hoped that this indulgent menu will be just as popular with Leeds love birds.

Casa Mia owner, Francesco Mazzella, explained his thinking behind the chocolate inspired menu: “Food is often associated with love and passion, so in tandem with our Italian heritage we have created a variety of speciality dishes that reflect the year’s most romantic day,” he said. “They say that the key to a man’s heart is his stomach and with chocolate being most women’s top vice our menu provides the ultimate recipe for love.

“This unique menu will be available throughout Valentine’s week at Casa Mia Grande, whilst an equally tasty menu will be on offer at Casa Mia Millennium in the city centre.  By going the extra mile on this special occasion we aim to deliver the ultimate romantic meal for anyone wishing to wine and dine their loved one.”

Chocolate’s reputation as having an aphrodisiac effect can be explained by the amount of phenylethylamine and serotonin released into the nervous system by the brain once consumed.  This causes a rapid mood change, rise in blood pressure and increased heart rate, which is often linked to feelings of happiness, love, passion and lust.

The special chocolate inspired dishes will be available at Casa Mia Grande in Chapel Allerton throughout Valentine’s week. Anyone wanting to try out the unusual dishes or enquire about the full range of Valentine’s menu options available at the restaurant should call 0870 444 5157 to make a reservation.
